The Blog Special
Wow, I can't believe a whole week has gone by since I posted. We went to Chattanooga on Friday. Since the road through the Ocoee gorge is closed for a rock slide, we went south through Ellijay and up across Fort mountain to Chatsworth. There was still 6 inches of snow on top of the mountain! On our way back, we came through Cleveland and went north to get around the gorge. There are definitely some curvy roads through these mountains.
Murphy has had some nice weather this last week - up into the upper 60s and sunny. It has been great for getting outdoors and into the woods. The trees are already putting on buds and the birds are starting to come back from their winter vacation spots. Boy, do I love barking a welcome to the birds in the yard.

Southeastern Tennessee is one of my favorite parts of the Appalachians. I think that the Great Smokey Mountains are one of the most gorgeous parts of the country and I always love visiting. I've never been to Ocoee Gorge, but it looks very pretty from the pictures I've seen. It sounds like you had a blast!

We had that same detour on our way to Hilton Head earlier this year. The detour sent us through some very very back roads of Tennessee. Probably some of the remotest parts of the area that I've ever seen. I'm hoping all is cleared for our trip next Spring. I heard the rockslide kept things closed for quite some time.
